Client
Maria Arciero is a fashion designer based in Montreal. She specializes in custom-made gowns.
Brief
Create an editorial fashion magazine showcasing Maria Arciero's gorgeous gowns through a series of photographs she provided.
Naming the Magazine
I began by brainstorming names for the magazine which included making a list of various adjectives and words related to the fashion industry and combinations of those words. The name needed to match the editorial and sleek tone of the magazine. Some of the final choices were Astound, Exquisite, and Distinct, but I chose GLANCE which was a perfect combination of fashion and exclusivity.
The Design Process
To convey the editorial style throughout the magazine, I first chose a modern serif that well represents the fashion industry and gives the allure of exclusivity. I wanted each layout to be simple but speak loudly on the page with the use of a strong typeface, hierarchy, and impactful grids in order to complement the stunning gowns and photography.
